I'm thrilled to introduce myself as the newly appointed Community House Manager at the Devonport Community House as of the beginning of 2024. It's an honor to step into this role where I'll continue to oversee marketing, activations, and bookings. However, my vision for the House is evolving; I'm determined to lead our team in creating a more inclusive and supportive space.My journey has long been fuelled by a passion for the not-for-profit sector, and I'm deeply grateful for this opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Currently, I'm expanding my horizons by delving into UX research. I've completed a mentorship in 2022 with a prominent UX/CX organisation. Additionally, I'm pursuing studies in Sociology and Psychology part-time at Auckland University and diving into UX Research courses provided by industry experts. This multidisciplinary approach enhances my work, allowing me to bring depth, empathy, and understanding to every project.Before stepping into the Community House Manager role, my career journey has been diverse. I've served in various capacities, including publicist, PR Manager, project manager, event management specialist, and English language teacher. My experiences span across renowned companies such as Omnicom Group, Sony Music, MTV Networks, OMD Worldwide, and Pop Publicity.Outside of work, I'm an avid music lover, bookworm, and travel enthusiast. My passion for music even led me to host radio shows on both commercial radio station George FM and community station Base FM, both based in Auckland, New Zealand.As Community House Manager, I'm excited to infuse our space with people of all ages, cultures and interests. I believe my diverse skill set and unwavering dedication to creating positive change will be of value, as the community sector continues to be challenged by funding and when these spaces are needed more than ever. Together with our team, we'll work towards building a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and empowered to thrive.
