I am an interdisciplinary performance artist, researcher and educator. I studied contemporary performance, dance, and somatic practices at Coventry University, graduating with a first-class degree and a distinction for my master’s. I completed my doctorate thesis in 2017, in which I explain the various functions of creative writing in the work of key somatic and environmental movement practitioners. I claim that acts of writing support the practitioner’s endeavour to articulate the lived experience of dance. My current research is concerned with the therapeutic capacity of eco-somatic movement practices. Since 2010, I have been developing an ecologically conscious interdisciplinary approach to outdoor dance that supports sustainable healthy relationships between humans and the rest of nature. This body of work has bought me into fascinating collaborations with poets, visual artists, musicians, and film makers, and has been shared via numerous live, multimedia and installation pieces.
