About Gemma Cooke

As the Creative Director at Southpaw I coordinate and lead the design and installation of specialist therapy projects. In 2011 was headhunted from University following my dissertation on "Designing Environments for users with Autism", and have worked in the Special Needs sector since then.I believe that the core principles of great design are to add to the quality of life of those affected by it. I am empathetic and understanding of the needs of our customers and end users. Throughout my career in the industry I have remained focussed on ensuring that therapeutic and positive outcomes are the ultimate goal of the projects I work on. In doing so I regularly liaise with industry experts to ensure my work is current, relevant and functional.

Informed by a great line of communication and feedback from therapists, we’ve want to become partners in creating solutions to meet client needs. We are also committed to encouraging a greater understanding of sensory integration and related neurodevelopmental disorders. Within our communities, we will provide education, insight and resources, and hope to achieve progress in the overall understanding and treatment of these disorders.
