During my year as part of the committee, we strengthened links with the department and put on various social, educational and careers events with high profile guest speakers. We achieved an increased membership, many of whom did not study Sociology or Anthropology, and improved the presence of the young society among students. I was personally responsible for monitoring the society's accounts, producing budgets, organising fundraising events, arranging the funding of several social and careers based events and offering advice to other committee members on financial possibilities at weekly meetings.
