I graduated from Brighton University in 2009 with a 2:1 BA Honours Degree in Criminology and Applied Psychology. I then went on to the College of Law in Bloomsbury, to complete my Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and the Legal Practice Course (LPC).I joined Duncan Lewis in August 2012 as a Immigration Caseworker. This is when I began to develop my passion for Human Rights Law. I started to specialise in assisting the most vulnerable clients, such as victims of trafficking and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. I am now a Director in our City of London office. I manage a team dealing with a wide range of judicial jeview matters challenging Home Office decisions in asylum cases, fresh claim matters, trafficking cases and many more.We specialise in unlawful detention matters against both the Home Office and the Ministry of Justice. I am currently involved with cases challenging the accommodation of asylum seekers in unsuitable accommodation such as Manston House, Bibby Stockholm barge and Wethersfield.I regularly assist unaccompanied asylum seeking children in asylum matters and age assessment challenges against the local authority. I am a Level 2 IAAS Accredited Solicitor which allows me to provide specialist legal help for publicly funded work under the firm's Legal Aid franchise . I advise both private and legal aid funded clients. My experience covers all aspects of Immigration, Asylum and Human Rights law including family life applications, entry clearance applications, deportation and asylum claims. I have extensive advocacy experience. I represent my clients in the First and Upper Tier Tribunal as well as the County Court. I have had a large amount of successful appeals particularly for victims of human trafficking from Albania and unaccompanied children from Afghanistan all resulting in grants of asylum. I am experienced in dealing with a wide range of Detained Asylum Casework cases including cases based on sexuality, political opinion, religion and land disputes. I also assist detained client’s in making bail applications and fresh claims for asylum.I hold an enhanced DBS which permits me to represent unaccompanied asylum seeking children. I currently deal with a number of unaccompanied children, assisting them with asylum cases, appeals and extension of leave to remain. Alongside this I also practice housing law, assisting clients with homelessness applications, reviews and disrepair claims.
