Social worker in the multi-agency support team (MAST) which was part of the DfE Brighter Futures Programme pilot project. The programme focused on new therapeutic ways of working with children, young people and families in and on the edge of care. I utilised intensive evidence based interventions (FPM, HFP and AMBIT), aimed at achieving sustainable change and positive outcomes for the young people and their families. I worked with Child protection, Child in Need and Looked After Children cases as part of my role within the team.

I was enrolled on the Step Up to Social Work course which required me to complete intensive studies and undertake three separate work placements. Placements included; Maples Children Centre in Acton were I assisted in the facilitation of the 3-4 year old day nursery, Mental health recovery team East, where I provided social interventions to clients to assist with their recovery from a severe and enduring mental illness and the Looked After Children's Court team where I completed child and family assessments, Child in Need plans and reviews, as well as s7 reports.

Due to service restructure my acting up position came to an end and I returned to my substantive post as a YISP key worker. I responsible for the management of a caseload and delivery of intervention programmes designed to prevent offending and antisocial behaviour of children aged 8-17.

I was required to assist the Youth Offending Service Team Manager (Early Intervention) in co-ordinating the team's workload and ensuring that a high quality service was delivered.I was responsible for directly supervising four YISP+ Keyworkers and ensuring that they adhered to YISP guidance and other local protocols. This also involved auditing Onset assessments, individual support plans, review and exit documentation. My duties also included promoting the service across the borough and developing and sustaining positive working relationships with external agencies.

I was responsible for providing one to one support to young people on statutory orders, both those on license and those subject to community orders. My work focused on addressing education, training and employment needs, as well as lifestyle and substance misuse needs in order to reduce the risk of re-offending.

I was responsible for encouraging, inspiring and supporting the personal development of young people aged 11-25 through the development and delivery of programmes of activities centred around the Every Child Matters agenda.
