I am passionate about accounting and the role that professional accounting firms have to support local business as part of the region’s economic and cultural landscape.My skills and experience extend well beyond the traditional areas of taxation and include self-managed superannuation funds and business advisory services including business structures, budgeting, forecast management and strategic planning. I specialise in working with clients to ensure that they have logical and ‘clever’ solutions for day to day operations while keeping an eye on the future by having strategies that support the business to be agile and diversified when needed.I am also passionate about women in business and regularly contribute to local women’s networking events, local International Women’s Day events and write professional educational blog pieces targeted to women managing businesses.I am actively involved in the community and regularly attend local charity events and business networking events. I also donate my time and skills as a committee member of the local Chartered Accountants committee, a committee member of the Bean Counters Ball, and participates as a financial literacy mentor as part of the Bean Counters Ball initiative with Samaritans. I began my career 15 years ago as a commercial accountant working in a locally owned small business before moving onto a role with a multi-national construction company. My decision to move into public practice was fuelled by my continued appetite to work with a diversified client base across a range of projects.
