My responsibilities include developing and managing fundraising in Yorkshire and the East, cultivating and securing high value partnerships. I develop and implement sustainable fundraising plans in line with the organisational and fundraising strategy whilst providing leadership and guidance to the fundraising team. The focus is on developing sustainable income streams for short, medium and long-term growth. I specialise in major relationships and corporate fundraising, account managing relationships and cultivating new and sustainable relationships for the future. • Management of Harrogate International Festivals’ full portfolio of literature events, holding responsibility for the planning, programming and delivery of financial and administrative functions, including the annual Theakston Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, the largest festival of its kind in the world, Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award, Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival, Children’s Festival, History Festival and Berwins Salon North Series.• Delivering against strategic objectives in relation to major stakeholders and partners, developing and consolidating strategic partnerships in relation to the Festivals’ literature portfolio. • Primary point of contact between each of the Literature Festival0’s range of Programming Chairs, Curators, Committees, authors and publishers (as above)• Overseeing sponsorship and development for the full literature Festivals programme, as well as identifying new sponsor opportunities and managing title sponsors. • Delivering a clear strategy to maintain and attract national partners to support the TOPCWF Awards including management of national profile through press and in-store promotion.• Overseeing the delivery of the creative communications strategy and managing promotion and marketing for all literary events.• Programming and delivery of year-round fringe activities including Writer in Residence, Reader in Residence, Big Read and You’re Booked website • Overseeing all public and industry bookings to ensure ticket sales and accommodation package income targets were reached.• Ensuring the smooth running of events from the venue side, including contracts, service agreements and general operational management, including rotas and staffing.• Leading the Literature Festivals team (including Literature Festivals Co-ordinator, Administrator and Intern and larger team of Festival Assistants and Volunteers).

This role involved the management of all planning, programming, and delivery of the financial and administrative functions relating to the Festival’s portfolio of literature events, with particular focus on and responsibility of the annual Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival, the largest festival of its kind in the world, and the prestigious Theakstons Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award.
