I worked as a summer research student, reducing IRTF spectral data and using the splat Python package to plot the spectra and classify the spectral types of the objects. I have worked with spectra taken using both the SXD and prism configurations to create meaningful spectral plots and spectrally classify each of the objects. From this, any objects of particular interest can be investigated further, for example potential sub-dwarfs and binaries.

I worked as a summer researcher, researching M-dwarfs using WISE data. During this time, I improved my data handling skills and learned how to effectively manage my time and resources to complete work both efficiently and effectively. Being set a task by my supervisor, I was able to work through this myself, regularly reporting back to give updates and any interesting things I had found. Once I found any candidates of interest, I was able to employ techniques taught to me in order to identify the object using a variety of different data and resources.
