Gemma is a multi-disciplinary artist. Current focus is creating art with local communities. To empower and create 'art' together, utilising the skills of artists to benefit everyone.. Also makes jewellery, prints and draws. Owns and runs Love Art By The Sea (Bexhill-On-Sea), a Co-Director of Living Communities CIC (Bexhill-On-Sea) as well as Meet and Make Spaces( Tooting, South London). Also co-founded Love Art in Tooting Market, a creative space and gallery that also runs workshops. Just completed three heritage projects in Tooting all funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (a big thank you). Included creating a huge Tapestry created with the local community within Tooting Market, a mural to celebrate the tailors of Tooting past and present, designed by local community and shaping the future of St George's University Pathology Museum with the local community. Regularly works with young people and adults that often need additional support, very experienced at working on the frontline as an artist. A few years ago attended an Eden Project Community Camp which reaffirmed everything I do and very fortunate to now have their love and support on many projects I work on, particularly anything run through Living Communities CIC.Art is brilliant at actively engaging with hard to reach people, those struggling with their mental health and everyone that could do with community support, companionship and fulfilment.
