During the last nine months I have been working within the Investment Helpdesk of a FTSE 100 company. This has involved helping clients with all of their investment needs and ensuring they receive the highest level of customer service. This has involved the following responsibilities:- Discussing IPOs and activity in the stock market.- Facilitating the transfers and re-registration of assets.-Providing online support for clients using the online platform.- Moving money between and out of accounts.- Discussing a range of different investments and portfolios.- Explaining the pricing and charges of different investment products.HL has provided the perfect foundation for a career in the financial industry.

My main role at this time was working as an Accounts Assistant. I would draft invoices, bills, expenses and other documents so that they could be passed on to the accountant. I also spent a lot of time drafting minutes from conference calls as well as creating documents to help with the management of ongoing projects. This was a really enjoyable and educational experience. During this period we were working on a contract for AT&T where the client was Shell. I was able to learn a lot about the industry as well as about management.

During my month at Standard Chartered I worked within theTechnology & Operations team. This involved working on a variety of different taskswith different people. I spent a lot of my time working on technology contracts that were being negotiated for the first time, or renewed. I also conducted research on the development of wifi and fibre optic connections that were being developed in Africa. I was able to learn many different skills and experience how one of the world's biggest global banks is so successful.
