You can understand the name Gespower as "the power of management" as "ges" is the beginning of the word "gestion" in French and means "management".My role at Gespower was to manage 70 medical doctors’ files around the year, from preparation of the new tax installments to the preparation of the tax return, passing by all the evidence requests for the former years, verification of the taxation, claims for errors and mistakes from the administration and payment/reimbursement arrangements, including management of all the delays and extensions required for these 70 clients. Some of my clients were reimbursed tens of thousands of Swiss Francs thanks to my knowledge and experience in dealing with the tax authorities.During my time at Gespower, I developed many soft skills. Under the supervision of Mr. David Bernardet, I became proficient enough to be recognized as highly skilled as a tax advisor to handle clients conversation all by myself efficiently, to the satisfaction of everybody concerned.I extended my knowledge of the 2007-2008 Swiss tax laws - particularly the canton of Geneva - and stayed up to date with the new laws that come and go away. As a consequence, you can't be a great tax adviser, if you don't regularly take the time to study all the material (that can be voluminous) sent by the tax authorities early enough to pass along the relevant information to your team. During my 3 years at Beau & Co, I took care of 70 commodities futures traders' tax file throughout the year, as well as 5 companies bookkeeping from the creation of the ledger to closing and filling out their tax returns. Thanks to my careful dedication in my expertise field, I helped some of our clients be reimbursed for tens of thousands of Swiss Francs by the tax administration, which is unusual in Switzerland. (The Swiss Franc is roughly equal to the U.S. Dollar with a 20% margin over the years)I also developed work ethic skills that I still use today in my own company. Some of these are attentiveness (paying attention to what is said and what is implied), emotion management (you are not allowed to share your emotions with a client when you are the tax adviser), discretion, and confidentiality (the main definition of fiduciary is trust and secret, so you have to respect 100% of the privacy and secrecy to constantly keep the trust factor at its peak, and many more soft skills.
