My main role is to drive brand engagement and marketing strategies for the BORDERS brand. I interview prominent personalities and transfer their stories from voice to pen and paper, in hopes to inspire budding entrepreneurs out there to take their step toward their very own success.I edit writings, and make them a tighter, neater copy so that it's easier to digest the information that goes out. I manage the publication in terms of story ideas, pagination and empowering my team of writers to do their best while serving the company's best interest. This is my most notable highlight of my career life. I managed and grew a team of 3 people to an 8 people team. My role is to plan, budget and ensure the publication of the magazine runs smoothly as well as to meet the quarterly 6 figure revenue. Running a magazine with over 140,000 print run is certainly no small feat. There were many challenges involved but each and every one of them became the stone that sharpens the edge of my craft. My most notable achievement was that I successfully revamped the magazine from a catalogue-styled one to a content-focused one in order to give value to readers. Pick up rate of magazine was almost always 90% out of the 140k copies. Throughout my career, I have met and interviewed various personalities and celebrities such as Andrew Matthews, Siti Nurhaliza, Michael Learns to Rock, Karen Mok, Jacky Cheung, Richard Clayderman, Yu Wo, Peter Su, Maggie Stiefvater, The Piano Guys and many more. Each of these encounters has given me wisdom that helps me grow in my career.In this position also, I have single handedly built up the company's social media platform, growing from zero fans up to 130,000 fans on the facebook platform. This transformed the company's brand and image on the digital sphere. Emceed BookFest @ Malaysia in KLCC for 6 consecutive years, that was a total of 54 days of emceeing. Best moments of my life.
