I thank God that He has allowed me to serve in this position. I was hired 24 years ago to develop a program for At-Risk students because of my background in mental health. The program has evolved over the years and has expanded to include all students in the middle school.As the Student Services Advisor, it is my job to assist students, parents and teachers with problems they are having. I look for solutions. *I work with students in grades 6 - 8 *Personal and academic counseling *Manage the Findling Fund (for TCSC) which assists underprivileged / undernourished students in the Tipton Community School Corporation*Developed and am the editor of a quarterly newsletter for Tipton Middle School*Developed and implement the "TMS Rocks!" orientation program for incoming middle school students and parents*Developed and manage the Academic Tutoring Program for Tipton Middle School*Implement the PASS Program (Pupil Assistance for School Success)*Help families in need in acquiring school supplies, clothing and food*Work closely with Child Protection and local law enforcement*Make presentations to middle school students on various topics*Assist the Guidance Counselor with ISTEP+ and other duties*In January 2015, I became the founder and Program Director for "My Closet" which is a new clothing pantry for students in need in grades K - 12. Students may visit "My Closet" one time per semester to obtain a brand new outfit (jacket, shirt, pants, package of socks, package of underwear and a haircut from Absolutely You Salon). We also provide new coats, hats and gloves for students. As of September 2016, "My Closet" also began distributing Shoe Carnival vouchers to students needing a new pair of shoes. The "Shoes for Kids" program is funded by the Tipton County Foundation.
