I am a devoted family man. I also love the lifestyle and sport of water polo. I share the vision of USA Water Polo’s mission statement, and dedicate my energy to the growth and success of our sport from the grassroots level of kids' splashball clinics all the way up to FINA international camps. Most of my life has been devoted to playing, coaching, mentoring and being an ambassador for the sport since high school. I after a successful college career as a scholar athlete, I had the amazing opportunity to represent USA Olympic Men's Water Polo team for over a decade. While competing throughout the world, I made close friends with athletes from numerous countries. My relationships have molded me into the man that I am today. When I started www.5meter.com, I wanted to take what I'd learned about hard work, competitiveness, leadership, discipline, and focus; and share that with young student athletes to help them achieve their dreams. Kids now have the experience to train with Olympians and college coaches that help prepare them for the next level. We partnered with Nike US Sports Camps to bring water polo into the largest sports camp network in the world. We currently hold over 50 camps and clinics year round. I continue to give back to our community by being an ambassador for the US Anti Doping Agency, where in addition to being a liaison for other Olympians, I speak to schools as part of a national campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of performance enhancing drugs. I have partnered with KidWorks in Santa Ana to help provide educational and athletic resources for children. I have also have the opportunity to work with numerous YMCA's and promote USA Water Polo programs they might not have been exposed to. I complement my competitive drive with a devoted work ethic. I take pride in being able to motivate myself and others to overachieve.
