Within 3 months of assuming the top leadership role, CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area, our organization faced daunting challenges… the Covid-19 pandemic and resulting store closures, revenue losses, and staff layoffs, and a tornado that leveled our highest volume location. I am proud of the swift action and bold business models we put into place – prioritizing our financial stability and ability to sustain mission-critical service operations – despite closing 17 stores and reducing staff by 30%, we were able to achieve a 6% operating margin surplus in 2020.Joining GIGCA in 2009 in Finance, I’ve been promoted through progressively impactful and responsible leadership roles, culminating as President & CEO with 17 locations in 2-states, 350+ staff and $20M P&L – my primary focus has been building commitment, capability, and performance – despite major challenges and difficult economic conditions. To not only achieve - but exceed - our strategic objectives requires a forward-thinking and collaborative leader with the ability to build partnerships and strengthen operations with razor-sharp focus on the bottom line.
