About Gene Henderson
I have been a Forensic Video Analyst for the State Police Crime Lab since 1982 and with the Texas DPS since 1969. I have been a member of the Law Enforcement Video Association since 1989. I was a member of the Scientific Working Group on Imaging Technologies (SWGIT) from 1999 until May 2015 and now am a member of the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE). I retired from DPS in 2002 with 32 years of service and rehired back at the same job. I am currently still working as a Senior Forensic Video Specialist/Forensic Photographer with the DPS Crime Lab and have 45+ years with the Texas DPS as of January 2016. I specialize in Forensic Video Analysis and am certified by the Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) in Forensic Video Analysis. I am a Technical Assessor for the American Society of Crime Lab Directors/Laboratory Accreditation Board (ASCLD/LAB) in the discipline of Forensic Video, Audio, and Image Analysis. In January 2016, I was reclassified as a Forensic Scientist III in the Forensic Video and Audio Analysis Section of the Texas DPS Crime Lab, Digital Multimedia Evidence (DME) Section.
