A registered Chemical Engineer/MBA, Gene has over 30 years of experience in the design, construction, commissioning, and qualification of life sciences industry facilities. He has managed numerous projects for a wide range of leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. The scopes of these projects vary broadly, from small renovations through building fit-outs to large greenfield facilities; from plant utility upgrades through biological product development laboratories to new isolated aseptic filling suites. Prior to his transition to the life sciences industries, during the early years of his career Gene served as an engineer and supervisor in several heavy industrial settings, where he developed his technical skills in process engineering, automation, instrumentation, and process controls. In addition, during this period he developed a strong understanding of and appreciation for construction and general industrial safety, and this commitment to the protection of personnel, property, and the environment guides his daily activities and the direction of the IPS engineering group.
