Gene McDaniel has been continuously certified as an EMS provider in Arizona since 1983. He is retired as a Captain Paramedic with the City of Phoenix Fire Department. serving as an engine company officer and the program manager for Paramedic Education. Gene is retired residential faculty from Phoenix College where he served as Department Chair for EMS and Fire Science programs and Chair for the Maricopa Community College District Instructional Council for EMS/ Fire Science Programs. Gene also served on the Chancellors Executive Sub- Committee for instructional design and degree pathways. He has also successfully written and completed two CoAEMSP/CAHEEP accreditation processes and one program review process for the Commission on Higher Learning Education.Gene has also served IAFF local 493 as a trustee, member of the 493 Executive Board as EMS Director, and IAFF Professional Firefighters of Arizona as the state EMS Director. Gene has also served as a Governor appointee to the Arizona Governor's EMS Council and Ad-Hoc committees for the AZ Department of Health Services, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Trauma.Gene attained a Bachelor of Science degree, with Honors Distinction, in Organizational Leadership from Charter Oak State College. Mr. McDaniel also has over 30 years of experience in training and education in professional workforce development with an emphasis in emergency response and operations for the emergency services industry. He has also presented at various national conferences and programs of instruction as a guest lecturer. Gene has serves as faculty at Louisiana State University at the National Center for Biomedical Research and Training and is an Agency Staff Instructor II for Texas Engineering and Extension Service, Texas A&M University System, at the National Emergency Response and Rescue Training Center. Gene has been a contributing author to EMS textbooks, fire service training materials and other educational literature, and has participated in peer reviewing a variety of materials and textbooks including EMS, leadership, training and program development.
