About Gene Oh

Technology is advancing at an exponential pace, not a linear one. This means the rate of change will accelerate in the years to come, and creative destruction will only intensify -- fostering a landscape that is rife with conflict. The tech-culture of "move fast and break things" is the correct mantra when one winning software can scale to dizzying heights and cover up a multitude of failures. But in the public sector, a single failure can result in the death of a multitude of people. Put another way, the mantra of the public sector is "move slow to ensure safety". This fundamental disconnect manifests itself on city streets, sidewalks, and curbs as rideshare, micromobility and delivery vehicles increase exponentially on public right-of-way. Things don't scale in the real world like they do in the digital one, and public infrastructure cannot be altered with a few lines of code. This is where I can help. I bring public and private parties together to devise strategies where everyone benefits. I’ve led strategy and design for California's largest public agencies on new mobility fleets and infrastructure from the ground-up. I've also developed financial models and KPIs, built budgets and projections, led construction projects, created brand identities, and led the ideation phase of Parkit - our custom bike parking platform consisting of hardware, software, and firmware. For over 15 years, I've self-funded Tranzito ~ BikeHub from startup to niche enterprise employing over 55 full-time experts in new mobility transportation. I also directly transformed Alameda Bicycle, a retail business I still own, into a successful turnkey operation that's self-managed based on strong SOPs and meaningful KPIs. My experiences come in handy helping startups shift their focus from growth-at-all-costs to managing their cost of growth.

Listed skills include Sales Management, Start Ups, Bike Share Management And Operations, Bike Station And Bike Transit Management And Operations, and 23 others.
