I provided analytic and subject matter expertise to support the modeling and simulation of amphibious ship designs. I developed design reference missions and scenarios to test each ship's ability to support a variety of operational requirements. I also assisted in a range of other Naval, Maritime, and MAGTF-related projects as needed.

I developed and taught Logistics, Command & Control, the Marine Corps Planning Process, and Amphibious Operations-related periods of instruction for the Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group. I worked with the Command's Exercise Controller to design and conduct Battle Staff training exercises for Combat Logistics Battalions, Regiments and Marine Wing Support Squadrons. I also wrote Operations Orders, annexes, and landing plans and translated this information and other considerations into modeling and simulation data to support student operational planning teams and Battle Staff training. I applied the Systems Approach to Training and the ADDIE process to develop and maintain ten Master Lesson Files to support instruction for the Intermediate MAGTF Logistics Operations Course.

I spearheaded the establishment of a storage facility for cargo container trailers and directed the relocation of the trailer maintenance operation. I also led the clean-up effort for the area previously dedicated to container trailer maintenance. I served as the liaison to military units transiting through our ports and also to National Guard organizations using State property for training exercises. I was the action officer for a high profile visit by a Japanese Trade Delegation and was able to use my language skills to facilitate a tour of the Port and presentations by the State Ports Authority leadership.

When I began my career, I was an F-4 Phantom and F/A-18 Hornet Electrician in the Marine Corps Fighter/Attack community and also served as my Squadron's Logistics and Embarkation Chief. In 1989, I was selected for Warrant Officer and spent the next 17 years as an Embarkation Officer moving the Marine Corps to every clime and place.

I served as the ship's loadmaster and provided leadership and technical expertise on the flight deck and well deck for the ship-to-shore movement of USMC and ROK Marine units. I also helped plan a variety of amphibious operations and became adept at developing the Amphibious Task Force's landing plan documents, operations orders, and annexes. During my time aboard Belleau Wood, we conducted a non-combatant evacuation of American and allied civilians and embassy staffers from Jakarta, Indonesia, combat operations in the Arabian Gulf for Operation DESERT FOX, and disaster relief operations in East Timor and the Philippines.

I worked on the ship's flight deck providing leadership and technical expertise for the loading of cargo and passengers on to US Navy and Marine Corps helicopters. I also worked in the Primary Flight Control tower coordinating, supervising, and trouble-shooting ship-to-shore movements of Marine units. I helped plan a variety of amphibious operations and ensured the Marines' billeting areas and work spaces were well-maintained. I had a central role in the planning, ship-to-shore movement, and follow-on support of 15th MEU for operations in Somalia, Kuwait, and Rwanda for a range of combat, peace-making, disaster relief, and humanitarian operations.
