I started my first company - a residential music school - in 1967 as a junior at Harvard College. Thirteen years later, in 1980, I started my first publicly traded company, WaterTest Corporation. The company discovered many problem elements in drinking water. The presentation of our data in two Congressional hearings was central to improving the safety of U.S. drinking water. WaterTest became public by acquisition, and its investors - several of them Harvard professors - made out handsomely. I then started and ran a telecom company in Nashua NH which created the first U.S. prepaid phone card. Our customers were Western Union and most of the Regional Bell telcos. This company was public in New Hampshire only. I then started a NASDAQ company - TVCP - and raised $14MM to implement the first video-over-IP service in America. After leaving it, I started two malpractice insurance companies, which significantly improved the climate for medical malpractice by establishing fair practices for lawsuits. Eight years ago, I started Iodine Products, Inc., my current company. It aims to substantially improve the health, well-being and intellectual status of Americans through the use of iodine in a variety of consumer OTC products.
