Working great as both a solo engineer and valued team member, I assist other projects as needed, develop and complete my own solo projects, and work on creative side projects in my spare time.My most recent solo deliverable project involved engineering a system to intelligently select the best compute resource consumption path for POD creation in a multi-domain Cloud Compute environment and deliver 15s updates to pipeline automation and a dashboard, taking into account dynamic POD resource needs and fluid resource availability. This involved parsing real-time unfiltered API output from the Cloud Compute service to extract current limit and usage data, creating an algorithm to analyze a broad range of POD resource needs vs. Compute resource availability, developing a detailed dashboard for Provision Engineers and Managers, and seeding pipeline automation with the current best path forward for Cloud POD creation. Technologies leveraged for this project include Swagger, JQ, Bash scripting, Apache Server, CoreUI, Bootstrap 4, HTML5, Visual Studio Code, Jenkins, JSON, and very heavy JavaScript.

In a side project of my own, I engineered a self-service system that extended VM creation/deletion, power state and snapshot management to end-users through a webpage without giving up admin access to the hypervisor. My system displayed real-time hypervisor resource usage stats and delivered custom VMs with pre-installed software and test environments ready to use in less than 1 minute, avoiding long queues and hours of waiting for a vanilla VM provisioned by corporate IT. Technologies leveraged included VirtualBox, Apache Server, Hudson/Jenkins, Bash Scripting, HTML, and JavaScript.Some other side projects involved creating a VM farm from unused disk/memory/CPU resources on employee workstations. That is, a VM farm from idle existing resources, eliminating the need for a hypervisor. Technologies leveraged for this project included Mesos, Marathon, ZooKeeper, Vagrant, Docker, LXC, Hudson/Jenkins and Bash scripting. The really interesting application of this setup will come in Phase 2 when I have time: containerizing a test environment, breaking up huge test sets into smaller portions and running them in parallel on multiple cloned test environment containers to exponentially decrease the time it takes to run automation tests.
