My job responsibilities and tasks included, design, build, and maintain, a tier 1 data center, but not limited to, providing computer skill training to employees, conceive and implement a complete central database system for the purpose of inventory control, creating marketing materials, and produce a live online Internet marketing system (before the term "e-commerce" was coined). We also started to develop a video tour marketing tool and photographing equipment and materials to be posted on a web based marketing system. I designed and started to build a private Internet National Access Point as an extension of the Chicago NAP; with the goal of creating a new place to sell Carrier Class Internet infrastructure access, Internet rack space, and hosting services. All this being very new in concept back in 1995 to 1997. The business was closed in 1997 by the owner's wife, after the owner's death from cancer. Note, I have since then continued my R&D work, focusing on the Internet from the infrastructure level as a new industry for commerce. My responsibilities and tasks entailed designing a new computer service lab room, its layout, select lab equipment, develop in-lab processes from start to finish, diagnose hardware and software, repair, update, formula work order tracking, custom programming, plus, do analyses on hardware, software and networks to determine the need to upgrade, and other related maintenance issues.I provided in-house service employee training and mentoring.During this time period, there were many outdated off-brand computer systems and new one emerging in the business world. My main tasks were reverse engineering obscure or not well supported computers, which had great value to the client. I would do component-level testing and replacement to bring obsolete computers back to working condition.Another job task was cross-platform networking. I worked out networking different computers systems together, different network systems together, different topologies together. I also installed Appleshare, Token Ring, and newly emerging Ethernet network hardware and cables.In the beginning, I was also asked to be the first initial response representative of Micronet Corp. to new potential major clients who had requested an initial information gathering meeting. As an experienced computer engineer, with my vast personal interests and research work, I was accepted quickly into positive dialog by CIO and IT/IS management type clients, which helped close new service deals. One major, US based, enterprise manufacturing client requested me as their lead computer contact before going into a long term service contract with Micronet Corp.

The owner of the business was impressed and complemented me on the results. I raised the profit margin of the business by providing quicker turn-around times building new PC Computers, And servicing ones brought in for repairs.I maintained my working knowledge of engineering new PC computer technologies through work and on my personal time, as a life long personal R&D interest.
