Director Of Business Development | Sales | Ad Network | Mobile Ad Network | Ad TechMedia Reps Sep 2014 - Aug 2015Media Reps is a specialized global ad network. Over one billion ads are served daily on a real-time bidding exchange. The Media Reps ad platform targeted context, location, and device, in any ad format, for mobile, tablet, and web, in 147 countries. We generate over 60,000,000 clicks for our advertisers daily. What I DidI created partnerships with web publishers, and negotiated to obtain ad placement on their websites. Then I designed ad and marketing strategies that matched the product roadmap of our advertisers with the inventory I acquired from the publishers. I also negotiated with ad exchanges to purchase extra inventory needed, and simultaneously sold any excess impressions to Ad exchanges. Our publishers got the highest return on their available ad space, and our advertisers received a cost-effective source for the best ad inventory at the best price. My role was a combination of revenue management, sales, business development, marketing strategy, and media buying. Results I've Had:* Generated as high as a 241% return on ad inventory.* Produced CTRs as high as 21% with mobile interstitial ads. -
Senior Sales Team Manager | Business Development | Search | Digital MarketingWebkite Sep 2013 - Aug 2014Pittsburgh, Pa, UsWebkite is a SaaS technology startup that created a revolutionary AI driven search technology. The Webkite platform transforms small to big data from a single spreadsheet upload or data API into rich interactive websites.I was brought into Webkite after they had made their first 'pivot'.I created their first 6-person sales team. The Challenge: Like a lot of startups that have made a pivot technologically, refining the technological change into a finished product, quickly finding a market, developing a sales strategy, and generating sales within that market was critical. The second challenge is introducing an aggressive new sales process into an established programmers environment that accomplishes objectives while embracing the existing culture. My Solution:I engaged the CEO and entire team to sharpen product definition, develop a sales strategy, craft market persona, recruit, train, and manage a sales and business development team, and generate sales revenue. The following: “My First 30 days at Webkite” attachment, shows how I responded to this challenge, and how much I and the Webkite team accomplished together from the start. -

Ceo | Finance | Strategic Planning | Revenue OperationsXray Funds Jul 2005 - Sep 2013I provided Strategic and Financial Analysis for Medical Technologists and Practices. My consultation has ranged from debt restructure, acquisition funding, and new financing, to the utilization of social media to generate referrals and 5010 implementation. The Challenge:Our entire medical community is going through changes. Nowhere is the problem more visible than in radiology practices; enabling high quality medical service utilizing the latest equipment within an environment of reduced reimbursements requires strategic analysis, planning, and cost containment. My Solution:I analyze current cash, future equipment, technology, and cash needs, and current debts, then determine areas where debt service can be reduced, cash flow increased, and a strategic plan established to prepare for future technological improvements or acquisitions. For example, for an imaging client, I made a number of improvements: including negotiating an $833,000 debt reduction. Through restructure of debt, I reduced monthly debt service from $120,000 to $32,000, a monthly savings to the practice of $88,000 (an annual savings of $1,056,000). I created a net lifetime value to the business of over $5,000,000.

Co-Founder | Retail Marketing | Project ManagementArea 51 May 1998 - Jun 2002When my partner, Jason Hallman and I, took over a lease at 401 Pine St. we had no idea that we were about to transform a dingy, 9000 sq. ft. antique mall into a collectible and artisan gallery that would become a major Seattle retail icon.We converged attention getting merchandising, (How about a Spaceman, on a salvage hospital table under operating lights, illuminated in the store-window, for Friday night pub-crawlers for starters?) the coolest products, and great customers who 'got us', into events with 1000+ weekend visitors.People have asked why someone involved in mobile, online, and digital marketing, got involved in a retail project…well...Area 51 enabled me to interact with tangible products, and utilize design, in a fascinating physical presentation that resulted in sales. I also relished meeting amazing people and fostering some great relationships, for example: On opening weekend, a customer was buying all my favorite items in the store, as we talked, I asked what she did for a living, she answered: "I'm working on a book". Later, I realized this was Mackenzie Bezos, the book she was working on was Amazon.com.Area 51 has had a steady flow of amazing local and international visitors like Alex Calderwood, Dale Chihuly, Bill Clinton, Peter Nordstrom, and Eddie Vedders, many of whom became friends. With the help of a dedicated, creative, passionate staff, we created a 'Brand' in a noisy retail environment; engineered a unique cultural experience, and became the top grossing store of our kind in the country, and had fun doing it.

Ceo | Developer | Web Programming | Internet SecuritySmutstopper 2001 - 2002Through the early 2000's independent Internet Service Providers started to challenge AOL's market dominance. The Challenge:The Independent Internet Service Providers (ISPs) had no Parental Controls type pornography filtering product. My Solution:I developed a database of pornographic websites, installed on a radius server, and created a Software as a Service, SaaS, solution which was sold to ISPs, schools, and directly to internet users…we called the product Smutstopper. I also created EmailForKids.com, which, through a proprietary filtering technology, gave parents a tool to safeguard their children's email. Our solution enabled ISP's to compete with AOL. It was sold directly and via trade shows. We were acquired by a Seattle security products software company, and Smutstopper ultimately became a part of the McAfee suite of security products.
