When I started with FairPoint Communications, I was the third employee hired for FairPoint's newly formed Northern New England Division and tasked with quickly establishing accounting and finance departments as the company had purchased Verizon telecommunications assets; revenue for the new acquisition exceeded $1B.I scaled the departments to meet all requirements for accounting, audits, SOX compliance, and best practices. I was hired for my tax expertise and earned a promotion within 2 months after identifying savings, improving cash flow concerns, and handling restatement of company's quarterly and annual financial statements, including filing of 10K and 10Q reports with SEC. I managed a team of 5 handling A/P, A/R, GL, and financial reporting and met compliance with all state tax and licensing requirements across US; prepared annual report for all states.
