(SWIX), a non-profit 501(c)(3) Florida corporation formed through a cooperative partnership by Florida State University, the Florida Chamber of Commerce and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in 1981, has as a primary objective assisting industrial and commercial waste generators with the management solid and hazardous waste. The SWIX serves as a clearinghouse and repository for industries concerning information on:- solid and hazardous waste management alternatives;- pollution prevention approaches;- market developments for recyclable materials in Florida;- recycled products which are available to Florida markets;- the availability of and demand for waste materials;- waste management services and products; and,- regulatory information related to solid and hazardous waste management.
