Full accountability for the performance of this corporate start up including the launch of the concept into the UK market. Shell TapUp developed a route to market for low carbon fuels such as HVO/Renewable Diesel. Starting from scratch in April 2020 the business quickly grew, offering customers a unique and more sustainable way to access fuel for their fleet.

Working with Shell on a consultancy basis to scope and launch a new corporate start up - Shell TapUp. Business was launched on time and in budget with internal, external and regulatory stakeholders aligned on business operations. Following the business launch, I lead the growth of the organisation and the launch of multiple product offerings to help customers decarbonise.

• Led a team of c300 people to deliver operations across 4 main commodities – containers, cruise, automotive and bulks.• Created and recruited the Service Delivery Leadership Team covering Maintenance, Port Operations, Integrated Planning, Stevedoring, Pilotage, Health Safety and Security and other standalone business units.• Designed a 3 year strategy for the region centered around a business transformation programme creating a new operating structure to address a historic misalignment between customer needs and operational delivery.• Implemented new operational structure to improve cost and service. • Aligned the functions around measurable KPIs in safety, quality, service and efficiency with a key focus on service improvement and employee engagement.• Successfully led a transformation in approach to safety leading to significant reduction in accidents and 400+ days with zero reportable incidents.• Led a transition from operations being purely cost control to becoming a revenue generating function.• Developed a group wide peer level forum to act as a platform for sharing operational best practice and continually improving services across the business.

• Inspire and lead a team of 6 Duty Managers, 50 Team Leaders and 800 Security Officers to safely deliver targets in compliance, efficiency and service to passengers travelling through Terminal 3. Focus on driving improvements in employee engagement scores.• Develop an effective working relationship with the Trade Unions whilst delivering the on-going change programme at Heathrow• Continually improve operational efficiency and transformed stakeholder perception through delivering step changes in performance and cost base.

Heathrow Airport Limited is a leading airport operator with a number of airports in the UK. Heathrow is one of the worlds’ busiest airports and Terminal 5 is the flagship, serving 25 million passengers a year. Role responsibilities include:•Lead a culture change to bring rigor and standardisation to operational management that ensures delivery of KPIs at all levels in the business unit.•Deputise for the Head of Operations and lead the operations team of 1000 officers/team leaders/duty managers to delight up to 90k passengers every day.•Develop and implement operational improvement programme.•Lead a CI team and numerous cross functional project teams.•Lead implementation of all new technology solutions.•Lead all major change programmes.•Own and manage the terminal master plan

Lead a manufacturing team of 100 operators and team leaders to safely deliver each shift’s plan.Manage and develop a team of 35 direct reports.Site custodian for up to 500 people and over £200m of assets.

Work closely with operations to ensure manufacturing lines are running as efficiently as possible. Support NPD teams to implement new products onto existing lines in the factory. Manage production of launch volumes in the factory.

Manage the manufacture, distribution and quality assurance of ready mixed mortar throughout the north west of England.
