We built internal and external applications and APIs to support users in knowing the status of, processing, updating, and filing registrations. Our teams used C#, .NET, Cosmos DB, GraphQL, TypeScript, and React hosted on Azure using Azure DevOps with GitHub. Monitoring and alerting were done using Splunk, and VictorOps then moved to DataDog.My primary role was mentoring, people management, engineering vision, architecture, strategy, and roadmap, all while recruiting new team members (self-recruited six engineers and two team leads).

At Workfront, we practiced Servant Leadership; removing blockers for software engineers, planning and executing sprints, and mentoring the engineers via feedback to help them produce their best work.While here I built two new teams: a charting/analytics application team and a dashboard & reporting team. The reporting team started by disaggregating it from the Java monolith for our greenfield Reporting & Dashboards product built with Node Microservice and React UI. Work Insights team, a greenfield product that started from nothing and led into Beta working towards GA. Insights written in Node, React, GraphQL, VX, and D3 using information from our Data Lake to provide Analytical views that give insights into past and current so Executives, PMs, and Managers can take action within our application.Worked heavily with my peers in design and product management to ensure we worked towards the best outcomes for our customers. Joined exploratory customer calls with design and product management to better understand customer pain points and improve our offerings.

We started using waterfall, moved to Lean, and finally into Agile with daily scrums. During the transition to Agile, I helped create the process, set up Scrum boards, establish the meetings, and train the teams. We started with sprint planning, did sprint demos, had daily standups, and ended sprints with retrospectives. As Agile rolled out to the whole company, we allowed teams to choose between Scrum or Kanban depending on their needs.As a lead, I developed customer-facing sites for Investools, TD Ameritrade, and TD Institutional. I lead the development of dozens of new applications including, a content creator like a CMS, Market 360, Educational course creation and web player, check deposit software, and a lead for the rewrite and development of Veo One. Veo One was an application that centralized dozens of application data via APIs into a module-based customizable dashboard. We used Angular, TypeScript, RxJS, Sass, Node on Veo One, and jade, jeet, rupture, stylus, and full-stack JavaScript on marketing sites. Besides coding, I did code reviews, ran Agile/Scrum meetings, mentored developers, wrote/ran training on new coding concepts and languages, worked with leads in UX, Java devs, QA, and ran demos for product owners.
