I worked for Professor Solsiree Del Moral in the American Studies Department with her research on the incarceration of Puerto Rican minors during the twentieth century. I went through census records, both on microfilm and on the Ancestry.com database, and helped analyze and transcribe the information. I also performed clerical work, including printing, photocopying, and handling library resources.

I assisted Professor Javier Corrales in the Political Science Department at Amherst College, with his LGBT Rights in the Americas Timeline. This timeline, which is the first of its kind, chronicles the noteworthy political events in the expansion of LGBT rights in the Latin America and the Caribbean.

I spent a summer interning in the legal and lobbying office at the Aids Healthcare Foundation. I attended conferences and sat in on meetings on Capitol Hill with several members of Congress to advocate on behalf of AHF. I was also exposed to the legal work of AHF while working under the oversight of AHF's General Counsel.

As a summer intern I performed clerical work for the Special Litigation Bureau, such as data entry and filing. I also participated in several workshops and seminars on the New York criminal justice system. At the end of the summer I participated in a mock trial organized by the District Attorney's office.
