I've always found joy in gathering information and distributing this knowledge through spoken and written word. As a result, I have pursued a career in humane and analytical journalism as my contribution to the world. Currently, I am a fourth-year journalism major and Africology/African American studies minor at Temple University. Through various opportunities, I have gained vital skills in developing and editing media in various mediums. I am currently the Co-Campus Correspondent, or Co-President, for Her Campus at Temple, a majority Gen Z and women-oriented publication. I have a strong passion for developing a well-rounded, multi-faceted mindset and this is evident in my experiences working abroad in Lisbon, Portugal; taking cultural and gendered studies courses; and working hard to truly understand two cultural and historically rich American cities: my hometown, Atlanta, Georgia, and the city of my undergraduate studies, Philadelphia. I am also learning Portuguese.I care deeply about social issues, specifically relating to race and culture, which can be seen through my work as a journalist and columnist, and through my activism, some of which appears in the documentary, "Monument: The Untold Story of Stone Mountain".Overall, my goal is to work in long-format digital media with the intention to offer perspective and understanding to a complex and fast-paced world.
