She received her master’s degree in media studies and media management Certificate from The New School. As a graduate of the school of “hard knocks”, her untitled memoir talks about her tumultuous journey from enduring physical, sexual, and mental abuse to becoming a woman of tremendous strength. The memoir chronicles her search for her identity and hunger and desire for love (emotionally and physically), with a dose of humor and authenticity. During the day, she organizes information for Local 420, a hospital union that has been in existence for over 70 years. She also helps with the overall day-to-day activities and servicing the members. Geneva Burch is an author and poet of her self-published poetry book Comfortable in My Skin. She is currently manager at Bill’s Place, an authentic speakeasy and co-director of Theda’s Space, an organization that creates events and provides a space for writers and creative artists. Her passion for poetry and writing is infinite. Burch participated in poetry and writing workshops at the now defunct Frederick Douglass Creative Arts Center where she met a creative group dubbed “the magic table.” Her writing has been labeled as “tragedy sprinkled with a dash of wit and humor.” Her mission is to spread joy and happiness through her works. She writes and lives in Harlem.She also volunteers for an organization called "Women's Press Collective"​, a grassroots organization that solicits donations for the functioning of their magazine "Collective Endeavor" and also help with the recruitment of new volunteers. They also advocate for the plight of the working women through grassroots media.
