BHC is a 10 year, $1 billion comprehensive community initiative launched by The California Endowment in 2010 to advance statewide policy, change the narrative, and transform 14 of California’s communities most devastated by health inequities into places where all people have an opportunity to thrive.

Responsible for the daily operations of the Wild Rivers Community Foundation; a community Foundation serving Del Norte County California, and Curry County Oregon. Maintains fiscal and management oversight of all programs and Foundation funds; sets Board and corporate strategy and maintains relationships with key community stakeholders. Manages the Building Healthy Communities Initiative for Del Norte and Tribal Lands place, advancing a health and racial justice agenda.

Founded a public-charter high school in Klamath, CA. Maintained daily operations and school management. Maintained key stakeholder relationships. Sought and secured start-up financing and successfully fundraised over a million dollars of funds over four years.

Responsible for the daily operations of the Yurok tribal government and all governmental functions. Managed over 200 staff; a $17M budget; and 5 operational centers. Developed polices and strategies for implementation by the Tribal Council. Lead spokesperson and media contact.

Analyzed educational policies, developed action strategies and engaged stakeholders in policy implementation for the Early College High School Initiative at Antioch University, Seattle. Reviewed grants and awarded funds to advance educational equity in Indigenous-led efforts or Tribal nations.

Directed public policy program for 180 student start-up school in Washington D.C. Designed, implemented and facilitated public policy program including standards and learning projects. Reported on progress and worked with Policy Advisory Board. Engaged teachers and community members.

Directed legislative activities for the National Congress of American Indians President including speech writing, developing congressional briefings, advocating and testifying and coordinating with Congressional and White house staff.
