As a working professional with a degree in Biomedical Science from Northern Arizona University, I bring a diverse background in veterinary care, scientific research, laboratory skills, and mentorship. I am committed to making a positive impact and continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow, which has led me to pursue diverse roles within the field of biomedical science while I relocate from Texas to the East Coast. My academic journey included rigorous coursework in Biology, Microbiology, Physics, Chemistry, and more, alongside a role as a cheerleader, where I contributed to winning the UCA World Championship in 2019.In my veterinary career, I have provided wellness and emergency care to small animals and exotics at Modern Animal and MVP—Eastgate Veterinary Clinic and New Hope Animal Hospital as a veterinary nurse and customer service representative. My expertise includes medical note-taking, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, cytology reading/cell staining, dental prophylaxis, radiography, and monitoring and prepping patients for anesthetic procedures. I have earned "Fear-Free" and radiology safety certifications in these positions.As a Formulation Technician at Thermo Fisher Scientific, I formulated reagents and large scale buffers for scientific research, ensuring asepsis in a clean-room setting and using testing methods such as UV Spectroscopy. Additionally, I assisted students as a Microbiology Lab Teaching Assistant’s Aid, sharing my knowledge of culture staining, microscopy, and aseptic techniques.My skills in the hard sciences include research, aseptic techniques, media preparation, sterilization, microscopy, UV-spectroscopy, culture-staining, data-entry, medical terminology, and other laboratory techniques.In addition to being a native English speaker, I possess advanced proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish.
