2001-2009 Software Process Engineer: As a principle member of the Software Process Group, we matured the software processes for the organization of 250 engineers over multiple sites from CMMI Level 1 to Level 3. I facilitated Process Improvement Teams to create and refine the processes. I deployed and managed the first measurement-based estimation system in the organization, using function points. I defined, deployed and maintained the Document Repository, in which company’s software planning and development documents are stored and maintained. Worked with the Systems Engineering Group to evaluate, acquire and deploy a major requirements management system. Through our process efforts the organization reduced its schedule slip by 80% and its escaped defect density by 65%.1984-2001 Software Engineer: - Implemented hardware interface software to control instruments in automated chip testers.- Wrote utilities to aid customers in chip test program development and debug.- Designed a boundary scan based circuit board diagnostic algorithm under contract to DARPA.- Patented an algorithm for automated analysis of boundary scan circuits.- Led a management team to organize the TQM training program.- Trained SW Engineers in basic TQM methods.- Architected software for major new in-circuit test system.- Developed guided probe in-circuit diagnostic system.- Created a system to manage customers’ multiple in-circuit test programs, coordinating with test fixture.- Constructed board test data collection and analysis system for factory floor test management.
