As Design Director at King James Digital my role has shifted over time.I joined PUNK, the technology division of King James, as Design Director in 2014. In 2017 when PUNK and the social media agency Society merged into King James Digital, I took on the role of Design Director across digital product as well as digital marketing. As Services and Platforms started establishing itself as a standalone entity in the last two years, I could turn my attention back to focus exclusively on UI and UX design.In my role as Design Director I am responsible for hiring, mentoring and reviewing the designers in the studio.As the head of my discipline I work closely with project managers, developers, account directors and clients to find the best way to approach various projects.I quality control and direct these projects from inception to completion. This includes doing the UX and UI with the client. Refining the prototype with input from developers. Briefing in and reviewing content. And finally testing and reviewing development implementation.At King James I worked on brands like Sanlam, Santam, Tymebank, Pick n Pay, Visa and many more.I have won the Loerie for best UX designer twice for my part in award winning campaigns “2 Minute Shower Songs” and “Conversations with Yourself.”

I taught first year Design History part time at AAA School of Advertising. My responsibilities included lecturing, setting and marking exams, as well as creating and marking assignments.

I started as a freelancer on the Woolworths account for Trigger/Isobar. I soon joined the Cape Town Isobar team permanently where I worked on clients like Red Bull, adidas, Nike, Guinness, Smirnoff and many more.

I worked as a freelance Designer and Art Director with a retainer at Isobar in Cape Town. Woolworths was the primary account that I was dealing with at the time. My other big freelance clients included the Jupiter Drawing Room and MNET. In my spare time I worked on my drawing portfolio.

I worked as the design lead at a German agency based in Cape Town. We serviced European as well as South African clients.

Presented a course in design history to first year design students.

I started my career at Hellocomputer where I worked on several Loerie award winning projects. In the heyday of Flash, I learnt how to design creatively with motion in mind, always pushing the boundaries of creativity, technology and spectacle.
