I work in a service industry, and have done in various capacities since leaving school in 1980. I have worked in retail sales, officework, childcare, bookkeeping, and a partnership in a family plumbing business. I was thrown into the deep end of Road Safety Education, Through the death of my 17 year old nephew in 1999 and then my own 18 yr old son in 2007. You can never receive that sort of education in any School or University, it is only through that experience of great loss that you can take that negative and turn it into a positive. I attended UniSA to upgrade my education in 2009 foundation studies program, My research project of which I received a high destinction was Risk Factors involved in Road Fatalities in the 16 to 25 year agegroup. It was a labour of love, and an attempt at finding out what triggers that agegroup to be over represented in Road Fatality statistics world wide. A way of coming to terms with such a great loss and how I can help educate that age group to think about the decisions they make on the road. #roadsafety #education
