Not that long after we launched PPOL it was clear to see that the financial services landscape was changing (for the better), and a new suitability report writing solution was needed to meet these changes. So in 2013 myself and a couple of colleagues decided to face this challenge head-on and we set out on a new journey to build the next generation suitability report generator from the ground up. Having burnt through a lot of midnight oil, we went live with Genovo in June 2014, and haven't looked back since.At Genovo I enjoy an extremely varied role and oversee all aspects of operations including product development and QA, to marketing and business processes.

In 2004 I suffered a stroke whilst playing cricket and had to take six months out. This was a difficult time for all concerned, but it did provide the opportunity for quiet contemplation; and it was around this time that I first started to explore the opportunity to combine my knowledge of financial services and my love of technology to automate the generation of a suitability report.Fast forward 3 years and I'd designed a suitability report writing tool from scratch, managed a team of developers to build it and sweated a lot of blood and tears along the way! The rest as they say is history....

I always wanted to work for myself and even fancied myself as a bit of an entrepreneur. So when in 2003 I had the idea to set up what I thought was the first outsource paraplanning company in the land, I genuinely thought I was trailblazing. I later discovered that a couple of others had had a similar idea around the same time!

Having returned from a year's travel around the world, I re-settled in my beloved Shropshire and took the position of Head of Paraplanning at a local financial planning company. During my time here I managed a small team of paraplanners and overhauled the company's back-office and suitability report writing processes - a task which in hindsight clearly paved the way for what was about to come...

I started my career in financial services as a paraplanner at Sedgwicks in London. I worked (and played) hard, and quickly achieved the full FPC as well as G10, G20 and G60. During my time at Sedgwicks, I was also lucky enough to receive some fantastic on-the-job training which stood me in good stead as within 2 years I'd been promoted to a Financial Planning Consultant with my own client bank.
