The Relentless Awards Show is an annual live Awards show presented by Building For the Arts NY, who this year honored the best in unproduced musical theater works. I worked as line producer with David Katz of the American Playwriting Association. The Awards show featured performances from the winning musical theatrical works, and the awards were presented in honor of Philip Seymour Hoffman and Adam Schlesinger. Speakers included Marc Lawrence, John Patrick Shanley, Sam Hollander and members of Building for the Arts NY. It was a delightful 95 minute live show with fantastic performers from Hills on Fire, How the White Girl Got Her Spots, XY, Shoot For the Moon, Clyde and Gracie Lawrence of the band Lawrence, Surf Party USA, and more.

The Bowery Electric is a music venue on the lower east side at 327 Bowery (between 2nd and 3rd Streets). Building capacity is 400 and I grew the business from inception to a multi million dollar yearly gross profit venue.I was the General Manager and Music & DJ Booker/Event Planner/Private Party Booker for 10 years. We booked films shoots and video shoots also. The Room Downstairs is complete with full stage, sound, lights and DJ booth. National and local artists have appeared. We booked 50 bands a week, multiple DJ's and created the East Village's best and infamous Friday and Saturday night Dance Party. As operations Manager I was in charge of all hiring, firing, training, evaluation and scheduling of all staff (over 50 employees). I have Health Certificate and F4 and F7 Fire Guard Cards. Additionally, I booked talent, and brought "creative" to the position. I oversaw office promotion and put the Bowery Electric online. I set spending budgets and oversaw general expenses for advertising, talent buying, gear purchases and equipment maintenance. While there, the building owners installed new fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, security systems and POS systems. When we opened we were a fully cash business with cash registers only, and were promoting with fliers around town.

Artist manager: Jesse Malin, Jeff Klein, Kristin Hoffmann, Tommy Stinson, Tara Angell.I launched and developed an artist management company. I worked with Jesse Malin and Ryan Adams on the making and release of Malin's classic debut solo album "The Fine Art of Self Destruction". I signed all of the artists to licensing deals or record deals, publishing deals and placed them all with credible booking agents. I oversaw their individual releases, press and promotion of product. I was there to assist and offer guidance in decision making. Malin and Stinson appeared on Late Night Television during promotion for their releases. All artists appeared at South By Southwest. I do not manage any longer but do still participate with artistic support as I can for all of the artists above. I have retained good relationships with them all.Prior to officially opening the management business, I worked as a Consultant to Joe Bonamassa and his manager Roy Weissman where under my guidance, Joe wrote, recorded and released his first original music album, and creating relationships with radio stations in helping to build a fan base for his unique and blistering talent.

Artemis Records: Was one of the first 6 employees who launched the label and participated with signing Warren Zevon. VP Promotion. (3 and a half years)A&M Records: VP Rock Promotion. (2 years) (worked with Monster Magnet, Patti Griffin, Johnny Lang, Matthew Ryan and more)EMI Records: Head of Rock Promotion. (1 and a half years. Worked with Queensryche, Patti Rothberg and more).Arista Records: Manager Rock Radio Promotion. I was quickly promoted to Director Rock Radio Promotion and eventually Senior Director Video Promotion. At the time VH-1 and MTV were important to artistic commercial success and regional video shows began to spring up on cable. (6 years) Worked with Roger McGuinn, Sarah McLachlan, The Grateful Dead, The Church, and more.MCA Records: Assistant to Randy Hock (VP Rock Promo) and Bobby Shaw (VP Dance Promo). I then began to do metal radio promotion for MCA Records. (2 years)

Department Chairperson: 1985 to 1986Secondary Teacher: Taught Grades 7, 8 and 9 and Writing Course for all Secondary Grades.Clubs: Launched a School Newspaper Club and I ran it for 5 years. In this role, the students all attended the Columbia University High School Newspaper Convention every year.I was a chaperone for social dances at the school and participated in assisting with school performances.
