I always knew I wanted to work with seniors. As a child, me and my cousins spent much of their time singing, dancing, dressing up for holidays, and doing gymnastics shows for residents at a senior community where her aunt was employed. She loved her time with the residents and admired their wisdom and strength. Her heart filled with joy when she saw them living such fulfilled lives – just as it does today.I joined the team at Juliette Fowler Communities in 2012 as the Director of Reimbursement and then transitioned to COO in 2018, overseeing operations of the assisted living memory care and skilled nursing neighborhoods as well as the accounting team. I work closely with the facilities director and executive chef to ensure residents are receiving exemplary services. Prior to joining the Fowler team, I worked as director of reimbursement at PC&S (Presbyterian Communities and Services) for 7 ½ years and at Forest Lane Healthcare Center as business office manager and director of business development for 4 ½ years. Graduating from high school in just 2 ½ years, I received my Associates of Applied Science with Medical Support from North East Community College before her 18th birthday. I enjoy serving on the LeadingCare Network Texas Board, affiliated with Leading Age Texas. My grandmother struggled with dementia, which proved to be a catalyst for my ongoing passion to ensure residents have meaningful lives and experiences. At JFC, I serve as the master trainer for Hearthstone’s I’m Still Here® program. As the only certified I’m Still Here® Center for Excellence in Dementia Care in Dallas and one of only three in Texas, Fowler’s program employs evidence-based techniques to adapt experiences to an individual’s cognitive abilities and strengths.When not working at Fowler, Gentry enjoys time with her family, her husband Kenley and their four daughters, whether at their home in Rockwall or at the softball park, dance studio, or cheer competitions. She also enjoys crafts, decorating, scrapbooking, and painting furniture.Gentry’s favorite quote is by Helen Keller.“Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet.
