Strategic Talent Solutions (STS) is a consulting partnership founded in 2004 with the aim of helping firms better align their business and talent strategies. I work with executive leaders to understand how their strategies for talent and leadership development aren't serving them. I then leverage STS's capabilities in individual/group/team coaching and executive assessment to design a solution tailored to their needs.

The principal focus of my practice is helping leaders accelerate their careers through better understanding their personal impact on others, making behavioral changes as they advance to higher levels of leadership and improving their cross-cultural competence to enable them to lead high performing global teams. Engagements have served a variety of leaders including a country CEO and Global Head of Sales in the corporate sector and a CEO in the non-profit sector.

Responsible for programs that accelerate the development of Morningstar's 12,000+ employees around the world.• Launched the company’s first leadership coaching program. Trained and mentored over 40 coaches in North America, Asia and Europe and served over 100 leaders around the world. The program has consistently earned an upper quartile net promoter score.• Designed and deployed the company’s first leadership development program which included the development of leadership competencies, a new manager orientation program and a leadership accelerator program for senior leaders leading to a 5% increase in employee satisfaction in one year.• Globalized the company’s early career program, expanding the number of employees from 200 to 2000 over a 12-month period.• Led the CEO succession planning process resulting in the identification of 5 legitimate internal succession candidates within 2 years.• Redesigned the company’s talent review process with the aim of mitigating manager bias, creating greater transparency and linking the results to the company’s annual incentive and leadership development programs. Employee satisfaction with career progress increased by 17% during my tenure.

Oversee all aspects of Morningstar's Leadership Coaching Program delivered globally through a team of 40 internal coaches. Responsible for onboarding coaches, continuing education and operational delivery.

Responsible for the adoption of services that Morningstar Investment Management provides via employers. The goal of our services is to help employers provide suitable, high-quality retirement plans that improve the likelihood that their employees will have a financially secure retirement.• Responsible for the go to market strategy and promotion of a range of investment management and digital advice services that enabled over 1.45 million American employees to achieve a secure retirement through their company’s defined contribution plan.• Drove adoption of services through the development and execution of a strategic partner marketing program resulting in a 28% increase in user growth.

Responsible for the development of relationships and partnerships that support key business initiatives. Primarily focused on the development of Morningstar's Index business which creates market indexes for the development of rules-based investments and investment benchmarking.• Responsible for the development of strategic client relationships in the Insurance, Exchange Traded Fund, and Investment Banking industries.• Added 40 new client relationships through the execution of an open-source index data initiative that provided a low-cost alternative to the incumbent index data providers.

Responsible for Morningstar's strategy for serving financial advisers and intermediaries across EMEA.• Developed a cohesive EMEA-wide strategy for serving the financial advisor market at a time when strategy had been determined at a country-level. Successfully developed strong relationships with all country leaders while arriving at a strategy that enabled the delivery of more profitable and reliable revenue streams.• Established the company’s first EMEA-wide institutional investor conference which established a platform for the company to build relationships with this new target audience.• Developed relationships with government regulators and trade associations across Europe to better support our clients through sweeping financial advice regulations.

Responsible for strategy and operations for all of Morningstar’s business lines in the U.K. market.• Responsible for all aspects of Morningstar’s business in the United Kingdom including investment data, software, investment research, investment management, sales and marketing. Achieved annualized growth of 150% during my tenure.• Successfully integrated five corporate acquisitions including the retention of over 300 staff and nearly all existing client relationships.• Responsible for the establishment and development of strategic customer, partner and media relationships including the UK Investment Management Association, the UK Wealth Management Association, the Financial Times, and the Times of London.

Responsible for strategy, development, delivery and marketing for all enterprise software products for financial advisers.• Responsible for launching and managing a web-based software business serving the financial advisor community in a Pre-IPO environment. Grew user base to over 20,000 users in one year.• Launched and managed an institutional services business resulting in over $1M in first-year revenues.• Lead product component re-design that resulted in over $3M of incremental 2002 sales.• Improved user satisfaction and retention through the development of a web-based training curriculum.

Responsible for the e-mail marketing business of Coolsavings, a business focused on helping clients with lead generation and consumer segmentation research.
