My teaching career from 1967 to 1992 took me from high school teaching of the sciences, and chemistry in particular, to the social sciences in the 1970's, pioneering Health Education as an avenue toward the mental, emotional and social health of students - invariably concerned to identify and remove impediments to wellbeing and human flourishing along the way. I concluded my employ by the SA Education Department while teaching at the Enfield Juvenile Detention Centre to take up a position as State Director of Scripture Union, an international Christian not-for-profit, supporting the wellbeing of children, young people and their families.In 1997 I was appointed Chaplain to Flinders University by the Uniting Church. Over the next 20 years I was instrumental in establishing the first multi faith university chaplaincy in Australia and in 2008, Oasis, a unique University-funded 'faith-friendly' centre conceived around universal principles of hospitality.I resigned from the University in January 2018 and now engage in innovative social development projects.
