My masters thesis was in the use of machine learning in ship design. Specifically it involved looking into reducing the data dependency for machine learning of non-linear roll damping data. The methodology used was to use feature engineering and different types of neural networks through the use of supervised learning. Through out this project, I had to report to my advisor my findings using creative and insightful visualizations and show the draw back of over fitting. The majority of the code was written in python with the use of numpy, pandas, keras, and tenserflow packages.
