Now semi retired. Grow plants and occasionally sell through markets. Have launched a new farmers' market in my home town. This has involved negotiating with county and town councils to secure funding and support. I have created a not for profit social enterprise for the market which is very successful and attracts large numbers of customers into each market.Have also set up a campaign group to oppose the building of an out of town supermarket. I was asked to lead the group and turned it into a democratic organisation with an efficient system of distributing information. The group galvanised public support and were the most significant objectors to the proposal.Have now retired from growing plants for sale . Now specialise in my personal interests which are rare and very exotic , so grow Canary Island Echiums , Cypellas , Dieramas , Hellebores and several rare bulbs from seed and exchange or sell on occasion.Retired as chairman of the farmers market after I knew its future was secured . Instigated and set up my town’s food and Drink festival . Retired from it but they persuaded me to go back. I source traders and plan event layout . So I have a lot of contacts with food and Drink traders .Also spend time baking ( into sourdough) and running . Despite heart disease and a double bypass I am usually in the top 30% in Parkrun and 10K races and moving up to half marathon . At 66 life seems short so have a lot to fit in!Specialties: I grow rare and unusual perennial plants.
