I have lived in the area for most of my life and started my banking career just down the road in Ashford, Middlesex.I have long been an admirer of the Handelsbanken very different, and very successful banking model based on a customer focus driven by their needs and aspirations rather than sales targets. We have a settled and highly experienced team delivering a first class customer service to a growing portfolio of local businesses. As deputy to the GM and a member of the Senior Management Team I had primary responsibility for the teams managing relationships with our clients in the property/hotel/trade finance/corporate sectors as well extensive involvement in the branch's management of Treasury & Liquidity, Compliance & Risk Management, Finance including contact with external auditors and regulators.The role came to an end when IDB took the strategic decision to close all their UK operations and we oversaw an orderly rundown of the business working closely with the regulators

Appointed to build a new relationship team serving the mid-corporate and private banking markets in Sussex, I was responsible for establishing the physical office and systems, building a team of Business bankers, Private Bankers, and Product Specialists and growing a successful and profitable business. Established satellite offices in Croydon and Brighton which then assumed full branch status.

Full executive responsibility for the RBS Group's Invoice Finance/Asset Based lending business in London. Strong growth achieved, particularly in the larger corporate market. Chair of Regional Credit Committee and member of RBSCS Group Credit Committee. Represented RBS as Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the £30m Regional VCT - South east Growth Fund.

Appointed as the first Regional Director of the combined RBS/NatWest Corporate business throughout the South East of England.
