The Historic Places Panel – previously known as the Urban Panel - provides a broad spectrum of independent expertise to help local authorities and others engage in the regeneration and revitalisation of historic places. The Panel’s visits, which typically last for two days, provide strategic recommendations and a legacy of networking that can have formative and lasting benefits.

The Fabric Advisory Committee is responsible for:- Advising the Cathedral on the care, conservation and development of the Cathedral- Determining applications for approval of works - Compiling and maintaining an inventory of items within the Cathedral's ownership and care

A member of Design Council's diverse, multi-disciplinary network commited to making life better by design. By collaborating, sharing knowledge and providing insight that comes from lived experience, Design Council experts enable clients to respond positively and even more effectively to the growing societal, environmental, and economic challenges that lie ahead.

Focussing on the work of renowned architects Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Kahn, my Fellowship aimed to establish the present day guardians of key buildings and the nature of recent project works. My work included a study trip during the months of September-November 2005 to visit the most important conservation projects first hand in India, the USA and Europe. The Fellowship gave me a unique insight and overview of the practical, technical and philosophical differences of building conservation in different cultures, with specific reference to the techniques ofrepairing modern buildings.

A nine month scholarship to study the practical, technical and philosophical aspects of building repair and conservation throughout the UK. Working daily alongside experienced professionals and expert contractors the SPAB Scholarship offers a unique hands-on training in every aspect of building conservation.

Worked on a wide range of design and repair projects throughout England and Wales, including major repair schemes for the cathedrals of Exeter, St Davids and Winchester, and majr projects for the National Trust and Landmark Trust.
