Geoff is a highly experienced and commercially focused senior finance executive. His recent roles include CFO of Queensland University of Technology and Group CFO of Virgin Australia, with responsibility for finance, strategic planning, IT, procurement, investor relations, treasury and fleet planning. He is an energetic and passionate leader with a proven reputation of delivering transformational change and business improvement, demonstrated in his leadership of the VA Group’s Better Business Program delivering recurring annualised free cash improvement of in excess of $400m at June 2019.Following his early post graduate career that commenced with KPMG working in both Audit and Transaction Services (M&A, capital raisings etc), Geoff has since been engaged for over 20 years in a range of executive consulting and senior finance and strategy roles across higher education, IT, aviation and mining services industries, spanning small to medium through to highly complex multinational ASX listed enterprises. The majority of Geoff’s executive experience has been gained in organisations characterised by:• High growth;• Fast moving consumer goods and services based industries;• Highly capital intensive requiring long term capital planning; and• Significant treasury risk management exposure (fuel, foreign exchange, interest rate and liquidity).From a leadership perspective, Geoff has successfully led and developed multi-disciplinary teams, particularly during times of significant change. In his last recorded Virgin Australia employee engagement survey, the CFO Portfolio recorded the highest divisional employee engagement and enablement score of the Group, above Australian norms and in line with global high performing comparators. Geoff holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University of Queensland, an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He has served as a Committee Member of the Finance & Audit Committee of Motorsport Australia since November-2016.
