Geoff Wright is a senior economist and lawyer leading private sector development in emerging markets. He rejoined Deloitte Consulting LLC in September 2023 and is currently Chief of Party of the USAID Georgia Middle Corridor Transportation and Logistics Program. He founded TradeSmart Strategy LLC, to provide specialist advice on trade regulation, trade facilitation and trade promotion to clients in emerging markets. Between 2016 and 2022, Geoff was with DAI Global Inc. as DAI's Director of Economic Growth, Asia, for two years where he provided technical and financial leadership of five USAID-funded projects with total revenue of $115 million. He also served as DAI's Chief of Party for USAID’s five-country Competitiveness, Trade and Jobs in Central Asia activity (CTJ) from 2016 to 2020. Between 2008 and 2014 at Deloitte Consulting he specialized in trade issues as well as supporting electricity regulation, public-private partnership transactions, special economic zone development and commercial law reform in emerging markets. He was awarded the Deloitte "Excellence in Client Service" Award, including for his work leading a Deloitte Middle East team to develop the national export strategy for Saudi Arabia. Mr. Wright has led or contributed to proposals resulting in USAID awarded contracts valued at more than $338 million and indefinite quantity contracts valued at more than $400 million.Geoff began his career as an tax policy analyst with New Zealand Treasury and financial analyst for the Investment Banking Group of the Bank of New Zealand. He has lived and worked long-term for donor funded projects in China, Egypt, Jordan, Kazakhstan and the Philippines.
