After a 25-year career with Procter & Gamble, Geoff Smith took early-retirement in 2004 and founded LP Enterprises, LLC – a boutique consultancy focused on the strategic use of Information Technology to dramatically improve its clients’ business.Geoff remains personally committed to the advancement of the IT profession. He co-chairs the CIO Roundtable of Greater Cincinnati and founded the IT Leadership Forum. In this role, he ran the “Office of the CIO” on behalf of the CIO. This included responsibility for P&G’s Global IT Strategy, Enterprise Architecture, and Advanced Technology Evaluation. Most of Geoff’s career at P&G focused on improving business results through the innovative use of Technology in Sales and Marketing. From 1997-2002, Geoff led the development of Procter’s customer and consumer-facing e-Business solutions. This included re-launching the Company’s website as well as creating an innovative system for distributors in emerging markets that managed $2 billion/year in P&G sales. The distributor system received Industry-wide recognition, winning CIO Magazine’s Enterprise Value Award in 1998.Geoff has over 15 years of global/international experience including 4+ years based in Asia. While serving as the CIO of P&G’s Japan subsidiary ($2 billion annual sales), his IT organization met the ultimate business disaster recovery challenge – quickly restoring P&G’s operations in the aftermath of the earthquake that devastated Kobe in 1995.
