Part of the team taking Nexsan private backed by private equity. Directly managed operations, engineering and customer service. Conducted a turnaround of the company substantially reducing operating cost and materially improving overall margins and efficiency.

Worked with the CEO and board of StaffConnect to help build the business and raise funds. The company was successfully acquired by K1.

Served on the board focused on helping with business development, product and marketing strategy. Tacit was sold to Packeteer in 2006.

Working with established companies such as Brocade on product strategy and several startup companies such Tacit Networks and Data Domain on product development and marketing strategies.

During this period served as the company CTO and directed product strategy. Managed all aspects of marketing including Product Marketing, PR and Marcom. Grew lead generation from marketing activities by 400% and turned marketing into a profit rather than cost center in terms of lead generated revenue.

Served as corporate CTO. During this period I presented on the CTO panel at most major storage events, wrote an industry commentary piece which had a readership of 60,000 at its peak, directed company strategy and was rated #9 most key guy in the storage industry by Byte and Switch.

During this period I founded BlueArc and grew the core engineering team from zero to around eighty individuals. Developed and brought to market the world's first SiliconServer.

During this period I managed all technical operations for Ultima who were the number 2 and number 3 reseller for Digital and Compaq in the UK. I designed and managed the implementation of many international data center rollouts including customers such as General Motors, BMW and several international banks.

Founded and built a company specializing in the import and distribution into channel of new innovative US technology products into the UK channel from companies such as Packeteer and NetScout.

During this period created a company to outsource small business IT support for many UK based companies. Managed all aspects of IT including supply, installation and support.
